Description **Job Description:**



Strategic Capital and Liquidity Risk, is a department within TCF Risk. It is responsible for providing an independent assessment of Bank of America’s Capital and Liquidity risk. The department’s aim is to support Bank of America’s purpose in making financial lives better . This is accomplished by providing an independent perspective on the effective utilization of Bank of America’s Capital & Liquidity resources. This will ensure the Business adheres to Bank of America’s risk appetite as it executes its strategy to drive Earnings.



The goal of the department is that a healthy and sustainable Capital and Liquidity profile is maintained through a business as usual environment and also during times of stress to support the Businesses Earnings Plans. This includes effective risk management of the front line units and ensuring they pursue their strategic objectives within Bank of America’s stated risk appetite.



Role Summary



This is an excellent opportunity to build on prior experience gained in: Treasury Risk, Liquidity Risk Management, other Independent Risk Management roles, Business Analytics, Product Finance or Middle Office to gain broad experience of a key “hot topics” of global regulatory focus; specifically Capital Risk Management.



This role, as a key member of the Treasury & Control Function Risk organization, will be to work closely with the Capital Risk Executives across a range of key responsibilities listed below. To support professional development and work life balance within the department, rotation and cross training opportunities are being created across the department.



The Risk function is organized on a matrix basis with a combination of both US and global coverage responsibilities. This structure will provide the successful candidate with opportunities to work on initiatives with broader overall enterprise impacts in addition to US responsibilities. Further details of the role is shown below:



**Capital:**



+ Active Capital Risk management through engagement with Corporate Treasury Capital Management

+ Independent review and challenge of Capital Management Policies and associated regulatory actions/filings/submissions:

+ Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process document (ICAAP)

+ Capital actions, and

+ Capital Management governance processes

+ Provide independent Risk perspective in Basel/CRD V readiness, implementation, and business as usual efforts for relevant entities.

+ This will include Risk participation in the relevant governance forums and reviews of key regulatory deliverables: Capital requirements, Disclosures and related regulations

+ Assist in conducting targeted deep dive analysis to fully understand risks and potential opportunities for enhancement

+ Provide support, as needed, for efforts related to CCAR and Recovery and Resolution Planning



**Reporting** :



+ Preparation of Risk Committee and Board Level Capital risk management reports

+ Data analysis to identify and validate risk drivers



Role scope:



The scope of the role is focused on Bank of America’s Legal Entities across the US and the Americas. While the role will focus on Capital Risk, this role may likely gain opportunities to expand his/her knowledge in other areas including risk management of liquidity, interest rate risk, the balance sheet and operational risk as well as topics relevant to the broader financial services industry.



**Core Competencies & Capabilities:**



Required



+ BS in Economics, Finance or other technical degree

+ 3+ years’ experience and knowledge of Banking / Global Markets Products. While not essential, understanding the associated capital treatment to these products is a benefit

+ Understanding of risk management concepts, financial analysis and forecasting, or related topics

+ Analytical skills, both in structuring your approach and executing data analysis

+ Experience in working closely with multiple data / information providers and stakeholders across various departments

+ Good communication skills, both written and oral; effectively use data to tell a story

+ Ability to multitask and collaborate with numerous team members

+ Inquisitive nature and strong attention to detail

+ Ability to work in a high energy, dynamic environment and work well under pressure

+ Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint



Desired



+ Previous experience within a Treasury or Treasury Risk function, other Independent Risk roles, Business Analytics, Product Finance or Middle Office

+ Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or equivalent

+ Exposure and involvement with Employee Engagement initiatives including Diversity & Inclusion efforts or networks



_Enterprise Role Overview:_



_Assists in providing risk oversight and advice and counsel to the LOB. Establish risk management policies, limits, standards, controls, metrics and thresholds within the defined corporate standards. Demonstrates ability to recognize all risk categories including credit, market, operational and compliance and bringing appropriate risk expertise as needed. Assists in conducting execution of risk framework activities including, but not limited to, independent monitoring and testing of controls and risk management processes for the LOB. Assists in establishing and overseeing the risk management governance structure for the LOB._
