General Overview


The Brand Specialist will support and strengthen Rotarys brand by ensuring clubs and districts are promoting Rotarys brand correctly. The Brand Specialist is responsible for providing advice, guidance and training on branding Rotary club, Rotary district and Rotaract club projects and using the Rotary Marks according to Rotary International guidelines and policies. The Brand Specialist will serve as the day-to-day contact for clubs and districts on branding issues. The Brand Specialist will develop broadcast email communications, training materials and webinars and train clubs and districts. In addition, the Brand Specialist will provide support and training internal to the organization in order to maintain brand integrity. The Brand Specialist will be the business owner for relationships with Rotarians, Rotary Entities and third parties for use of the Rotary Marks, including the oversight and management of any naming rights agreements (not including goods manufacturer/distributor licenses or magazine licenses).

Responsibilities



  • Serve as primary branding advisor to clubs across the Rotary world

  • Ensure that clubs use Rotarys brand and voice and visual identity in accordance with organizational policies by directly assisting clubs in creating new projects that are in compliance with Rotarys policies and helping clubs bring existing project names, domains and materials into compliance with Rotarys policies

  • Respond to inquiries from clubs directly and proactively identify club project branding issues through Internet research and reviewing project materials at Rotary International meetings 

  • Serve as primary advisor regarding brand and trademark usage to Club and District support teams in all of Rotarys International Offices, as well as Programs, Communications and other staff

  • Develop a club and district project branding monitoring strategy

  • Review, respond on and manage issues related to Rotarian (non-Rotary Entity) usage of the Rotary Marks

  • Review, interpret and communicate changes to RI constitutional documents and Board policy that impact branding to clubs

  • Ensure that Rotary staff understand Rotary International branding and trademark policies

  • Consult with and conduct training for staff colleagues as subject matter expert.

  • Develop and maintain template materials and assist in updates and addendums to Rotarys voice and visual identity manual.

  • Assist with training Club and District Support coordinators on brand and trademark usage

  • Collaborate in developing training materials and webinars for clubs

  • Help develop innovative approaches to addressing club communication and educational needs

  • Receive and prepare requests to the Board for exceptions to Rotarys naming and Marks usage policies under the guidance of the Rotary Marks Committee

  • Collaborate with Club and District Support, Communications, Programs, Design, Licensing, and the Office of the General Counsel on strategy and reinforcing branding communications

  • Participate in cross-divisional projects as assigned

  • Serve as the business owner of agreements related to use of the Rotary Marks by Rotarians or third parties, such as naming rights agreements (not including goods manufacturer/distributor licenses or magazine licenses)

  • Forward inquiries related to licensing of goods and use of Rotary International copyrighted materials to Licensing Services

  • Manage regular meetings with stakeholders



 


Prior Experience



  • Customer service, project management work experience

  • Prior brand marketing or design experience

  • Prior international experience

  • Previous work experience with a membership organization desired
