Job Description

The Bookkeeper role at Tiedemann Advisors is an opportunity to provide high level service and support to both our clients and wealth management teams. As a valued member of the team, you will directly support your team members by processing the general client cash and accounting activity, as well as supporting the client service team with account related administration. This includes coordination of bill payment, accounting for client trusts and entities, and maintaining client QuickBooks and other source of records where applicable. The ideal candidate will enjoy setting aggressive goals, thrive in a fast-moving environment and be accountable for delivering results.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensuring correct and prompt handling of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Posting and verifying details of trust, personal and business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, transfers of assets and updated values/ownerships
  • Preparing vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, financial reports and other records and reviewing for accuracy
  • Monitoring client cash balance and sufficiency for accounts payable
  • Maintaining personal accounts and bookkeeping for clients
  • Reconciling aggregated data to general ledgers, bank statements and other accounts
  • Monitoring data for discrepancies and problems, reconciling as necessary
  • Coordinating with vendors to ensure accurate transfer of funds
  • Preparing client tax reports including year-end support (preparation of 1099s, W-2s, etc.)
  • Establishing, developing, maintaining, and updating client files
  • Ethical accounting practices, including accounts payable/receivable and cash management
  • Request & document required approvals in a timely and professional manner for invoices, bills and other related financial items from client and client representatives

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or similar degree preferred
  • Three years minimum of related experience
  • Knowledge and experience in GAAP and Tax/Cash basis accounting principles, accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Experience or familiarity in agriculture or ranching industry a plus, but not required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and report on qualitative and quantitative data
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility with changing priorities
  • Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software
  • Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
