Job Description

The Bookkeeper role at Tiedemann Advisorsis an opportunity to provide high level service and support to both our clients and wealth management teams. As a valued member of the team, you will directly support your team members by processing the general client cash and accounting activity as well as supporting the client service team with account related administration. This includes coordination of online bill payment, local bill payment and maintaining client QuickBooks and other source of records where applicable. The ideal candidate will enjoy setting aggressive goals, thrive in a fast-moving environment and be accountable for delivering results.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensuring correct and prompt handling of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Posting and verifying details of trust, personal and business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, transfers of assets and updated values/ownerships
  • Preparing vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, financial reports and other records and reviewing for accuracy
  • Reconciling aggregated data to general ledgers, bank statements and other accounts
  • Monitoring reports for discrepancies and problems, reconciling as necessary
  • Coordinating with vendors to ensure accurate transfer of funds
  • Preparing client financial reports including year-end financial support (preparation of 1099s, coordination of tax return information, etc.)
  • Establishing, developing, maintaining, and updating client files
  • Preparing inventory of client assets and completing proposal requests and client communications
  • Processes for custodial and new manager paperwork, account administration, and account transfers
  • Maintaining personal accounts and bookkeeping for clients
  • Ability to analyze and report on qualitative and quantitative data
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility with changing priorities
  • Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks or other accounting software
  • Ethical accounting practices, including accounts payable/receivable and cash management
  • General investment practices and styles (equities, fixed income, alternatives, etc.)

  • Two to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
