Position Summary

Dr. Nicholas Banovich is an Assistant Professor in the Integrated Cancer Genomics Division at the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen). The Banovich lab is focused on understanding how changes in gene regulation contribute to complex disease. Our work employs functional genomics, computational biology, population genetics, and molecular biology to understand how regulatory changes can alter complex phenotypes.

We are looking for a dedicated bioinformatician to support key infrastructure across research activities. This candidate would have the opportunity to work across the major research areas of the lab and would work with all members of the lab.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to be responsible for data management, pipeline development, coordination with the HPC team, installation of software packages, and training of new personnel. This is a staff position aimed at supporting critical lab infrastructure. This is NOT a primary research position, but the candidate would be engaged in general research discussion.

Education and Preferred Qualifications:

At a minimum the candidate will be required to have a bachelors in bioinformatics or computer science. Ideally the candidate would have hands on experience working in HPC computing environments with proficiency in R and bash.
