The Healing Center, a ministry of Vineyard Cincinnati Church, is more than a social services organization. With help for the whole person including food, clothing, ESOL classes, job coaching, financial assistance, computer training, and 50+other  services, the Healing Center is determined to equip people with the power to break the cycle of poverty and attain self-sufficiency.

This position is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality and customer service to Healing Center guests by overseeing the community gathering space, food pantry, and clothing store operations.  This individual will also provide leadership of the Hospitality Phone Reception and Store Operations volunteers.






  • Oversee front desk operations, greeting and directing callers and guests, responding to general inquiries regarding programs and services, and ensuring coverage is provided at all times.

  • Develop procedures and systems that promote efficiency and enable volunteers to provide excellent service to guests.

  • Regularly update voicemail system with current information, in both English and Spanish.

  • Maintain reception area in a neat and orderly fashion and secure main entrance at the end of day.




  • Ensure all guests are welcomed into a warm and friendly environment that communicates dignity and respect.

  • Proactively work to anticipate and address guests needs. 

  • Develop guest care standards and protocols and ensure these are successfully integrated and executed throughout the HC.

  • Communicate professionally, effectively and empathetically.

  • Manage coffee supply inventory and budget.


Store Operations


  • Train and coach store operations volunteers to deliver a caring and consistent guest experience.

  • Ensure communication of distribution limits in both English and Spanish.

  • Work with Warehouse Manager to ensure equal and efficient distribution of products across multiple serving times. 

  • Intercede regarding issues and concerns.  Escalate issues appropriately to the Healing Center Volunteer Program Manager.


Volunteer Leadership


  • Deliver training and coaching to volunteers on guest care best practices and internal standards.

  • Provide care and support to volunteer teams

  • Identify and  develop Healing Center Hospitality, Wearhouse, and Marketplace volunteer Team Leaders.

  • Coordinate volunteer scheduling to maintain proper coverage in responsible areas and communicate schedules and any procedure changes promptly and effectively.





  • Required Education: High School Diploma/GED

  • Required Experience: 

  • 2 years minimum in customer service/hospitality environment

  • Fluent Spanish and English (written and spoken)
