SUMMARY:  This position is responsible for the management, administration and overall function of the Mortgage Servicing Department



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Direct and manage mortgage loan servicing staff dedicated to accuracy, efficiency and member service excellence;  

    • Escrow account analysis ,disbursement and reconciliation;  

    • Payment processing and reconciliation ; :

    • Insurance and tax tracking and administration;

    • Investor remittance and reconciliation;

    • Preparation and distribution of IRS 1098 and 1099 forms;

    • Payoff and lien release administration;

    • Loan modification and restructuring.

  • Handle escalated member service issues focused on finding the correct solutions that meet member, credit union and investor needs and requirements as well as compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Ensure a seamless transfer of mortgage loans from Encompass to FICS including the processing of hello and goodbye letters and the transfer of escrow funds.

  • Draft and maintain mortgage servicing procedures.

  • Interact and collaborate with our third-party collection agency and in-house collection staff and management to facilitate foreclosure and asset disposition.

  • Interact with the credit unions IT department to install updates and maintain the loan servicing software, and integration into digital banking channels.

  • Focuses on increasing automated member service functions (e-statements, electronic payments, etc.).

  • Manages a staff engaged in mortgage loan servicing.   Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, making hiring recommendations, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.



  Knowledge Of:

  • IDFPR and NCUA servicing requirements and regulations

  • Investor (FHLB, FNMA, FHLMC) servicing, remittance, reconciliation, and reporting requirements

  • CFPB servicing governance through Reg X (12 CFR 1024) and Reg Z (12CFR 1026)

  • Basic loan accounting knowledge as it relates to customer billing, daily balancing and reconciliation, general ledger transaction accounts and impound account analysis

  • FICS Mortgage Servicer, Mortgage Accountant and eStatus Connect Loan Servicing Software

    Ability To:

  • Operate a PC using the following software applications Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Operate the Credit Unions financial software to access member accounts as well as the FICS software to perform loan servicing functions

  • Step into each role within the mortgage loan servicing department and perform the job efficiently and effectively

  • Lead and manage subordinate staff efficiently and effectively


Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities, required to perform the job is acceptable.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:


  • Bachelors degree (B.A.) or equivalent



  • Five or more years experience servicing first mortgages including servicing mortgages sold to FHLB, FNMA or FHLMC

  • Five or years supervisory experience and/or training in a full-service financial institution.

License or Certificate:

  • Bondable

  • Acceptable Credit History

  • Notary Public Certificate desired, but not required


  • Salary Range: $83,300-$124,900
