AVP, BUSINESS & DEALER DEVELOPMENT


SUMMARY:


A dynamic relationship-builder, business developer and leader who efficiently and effectively grows DECU penetration rates at John Deere dealerships, John Deere factory units and joint ventures. As a relationship builder, this individual is skilled at eliciting feedback from clients and prospects then articulating needs to leadership. As a business developer, this individual creates and executes a business plan, understands how to recognize and seize opportunities and develops sales and marketing approaches to increase growth. As a leader, this person delivers coaching to help motivated staff manage and improve opportunities, success rate, time to close and cost to close. Additionally, this person contributes to the strategic direction of the credit unions member experience team.


 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops and manages business plans based on reported market size and share metrics as well as segmentation and identifies best areas of opportunity.

  • Understands marketing needs and contributes towards the creation and implementation of creative pieces.

  • Works with Chief Retail Officer to create annual schedule of visits to strategic John Deere units.

  • Maintains sales and incentive tracking programs to monitor, measure, reward, and reinforce performance; serves as an expert resource on all sales-related programs, processes, tools, aids, and systems.

  • Develops and implements sales processes and strategies with the goal of maximizing sales while maintaining a high level of member and key-contact service; provides coaching and mentoring to employees to build their sales abilities and overall business acumen.

  • Monitors employee sales activities and results to identify best practices; supports the sales culture within the department by meeting weekly with staff to review sales progress and develop individual action plans.

  • Cultivates and maintains appropriate relationships with principals, centers of influence, members and co-workers.

  • Stays abreast of industry and technological advancements relative to credit union sales practices and recommends changes and improvements or Chief Retail Officer.

  • Makes presentations at meetings involving employees, prospects and key stakeholders at John Deere locations, joint ventures, and dealerships.

  • Out of town, weekend work, and overnight travel is required.

  • Other duties as assigned.



 


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


The AVP, Business & Dealer Development manages a team of Business Development Officers and is responsible for the performance management, hiring and scheduling of those Business Development Officers. 


QUALIFICATIONS:


       Knowledge Of:



  • Credit Union policies and procedures.

  • Credit Unions financial software system as applicable to Member Services and Sales.

  • Regulatory and Compliance issues applicable to credit union deposit and lending products and services.

  • Credit Union terminology and acronyms commonly utilized in the day to day communication with managers and staff in the credit union.

  • Each job within the Sales department and of each department members abilities in regard to sales, input, output, account summary, member file maintenance, and related functions.



Ability To:



  • Operate a PC using the following software applications Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Operate the Credit Unions financial software to access member accounts to perform transactions and account inquiries.

  • Lead, mentor, develop, and manage the Sales department subordinate staff and implement a sales culture.

  • Identify and analyze sales needs and create programs to satisfy the need.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key contacts.

  • Communicate professionally and effectively with co-workers, employees, and members.



 


REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelors degree in Business Management or Communications or equivalent experience plus a minimum of three years experience in business-to-business sales with John Deere dealerships, factories or other similar manufacturing companies.  Must have a verifiable record of success in a sales role and demonstrate leadership ability.



License or Certificate:



  • Bondable

  • Acceptable Credit History

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:




  • Salary Range: $83,300-$124,900

  • Health, Dental & Vision Benefits
