Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for an Audit Response Project Manager. This position could be located in the Global Operations &Innovation Center (GOIC) in Wheeling, WV, Seattle or Sacramento office.

What responsibilities will you have?

  • Works under the direction of the Audit/Special Project Attorney to respond to audit letter inquiries in an effective and sound manner.
  • Ensures that descriptions of threatened or pending claims or litigation are carefully and accurately described, in close collaboration with the firm's partners, Risk Management Counsel and the Risk Management Committee.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail in preparing responses to audit inquiries.
  • Monitors the ABA Audit Response Committee and stays abreast of their publications.
  • Understands intimately the principles behind the Risk Management operations manual, as well as project documentation and communication requirements.
  • Feels intense project ownership and exhibits an extreme level of responsibility for project details and success.
  • Demonstrates an ability to quickly comprehend client objectives and how they translate into project requirements.
  • Provides training to team members in Auditor Response process, policies and guidelines.
  • Assist the Audit/Special Project Attorney with training of firm personnel in the Auditor Response process, policies and guidelines.
  • Assists the Audit/Special Project Attorney with developing and maintaining auditor response process documents, including, Portal pages, user guides and related Risk Management form letters and guides.
  • Assists the Audit/Special Project Attorney with maintenance of the firms electronic Auditor Response files.
  • Participates actively in quality control processes and strives for defect-free work.
  • Provides regular updates both verbally and in writing to attorneys and staff regarding project issues and progress.
  • Maintains close, regular communications with coordinators and other members of Web Engineering, Information Technology and Information Technology Training and Mobile Applications teams regarding data availability and technical issues.
  • Ensures agreed project deadlines are met.
  • Ensures all project documentation is complete and project data is archived appropriately.
  • Keeps Risk Management and the Audit/Special Project Attorney informed of project issues and progress, and otherwise works effectively with other members of management and support teams.
  • Maintains high personal and team billing levels while demonstrating effective timekeeping skills.
  • Contributes to the development of Risk Management and Auditor Response Team methodologies and improved practices.

Job Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor preferred.
  • Strong supervisory and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels and a demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of personality types.
  • Planning and organization skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • A proactive approach to work and problem solving and strong decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel Spreadsheet and other Office Software.
