OVERVIEW:  The Associate Service Technician performs basic in-plant service and repair functions on Handicare products after the sale.  The Associate Service Technician may perform other duties as assigned, related to production, assembly, distribution, QC inspection, recall coordination, technical training and complaint investigations.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Assist with inbound service requests for repairs and repair quote estimation on Handicare equipment.

  • Responsible for timely entry of returned goods into inventory, along with determination of inventory status.

  • Evaluate inbound service requests for repair, as well as repair quote estimation.

  • Performs and documents repair analysis on returned goods.

  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and condition of the repair service center.

  • Perform inventory control and accounting for all service parts within the service department.

  • Assist as back-up to sewn goods QC inspector and provide finish goods QC inspection when needed.

  • Additional duties as assigned or required by management.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 0-1 years of assembly, maintenance and service experience with mechanical motors.  Experience with Prism Medical and Medcare products preferred.




COMPUTER SKILLS:

Must be proficient in the basic operation of Microsoft Windows, MS Office, Multiflex, Microsoft Dynamics (or related ERP system) and internet navigation.




PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  

The employee may frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch during shift.  Employee will be required to regularly sit, use hand to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms.  Employee must be able to occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs.




TRAVEL:

This position may travel up to 10 % of the time.




WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position works in an environment with moderate noise levels.
