Amgen is seeking an Associate Project Coordinator to handle operational requirements and change initiatives for the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) team as well as support information systems related projects and transformation initiatives. The Associate will work with the Information Systems (IS) Chief of Staff at our corporate headquarters located in Thousand Oaks, California. The OCIO is a key IS strategic function and trusted partner in leading IS. The office provides leadership for multi-functional management of information and technology across the enterprise. We lead sub-functions such as IS strategy, governance, enterprise architecture, organization effectiveness, performance management, enterprise service management and learning.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning the master calendar for each IS leadership meeting (ISLT), Extended Leadership Summits and coordinate deadlines for materials with specific review meeting and other deadlines
  • Collaborate and communicate with presenters to assist with revising and creating documents for ISLT meetings
  • Provide planning, logistical support, and project management in support of our IS Leadership Team
  • Partner with the Chief of Staff to drive root cause analysis initiatives to understand existing process gaps, to help find opportunities for improvement and deliver solutions
  • Drive improvements to risk, decision and action item monitoring and improve the overall efficiency in decision making across the IS leadership team
  • Identify and run new continuous improvement opportunities for IS leadership team to deliver value and productivity


Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

OR

Associate's degree and 4 years of experience managing projects

OR

High school diploma / GED and 6 years of experience managing projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Helpful, optimistic attitude with solution-oriented approach!
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills and ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and track/report status of assignments and activities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and track record in customer service
  • Discretion in dealing with proprietary information and advanced knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (i.e. word processing, presentations, and spreadsheet skills)
  • Experienced and proficient with standard technologies and platforms such as Skype, Office365, SharePoint Online, OneNote, Concur, etc.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in communicating key business information
  • Ability to manage multiple people, and calendars, at once while having excellent travel and meeting planning skills
