Amgen is seeking an Associate for our Attribute Sciences Process Development Group to join our team and work from Amgen's beautiful Thousand Oaks, CA campus. To learn more about this position:

An Associate in the Attribute Sciences Process Development Group performs analytical testing of process related impurities to support development of large molecules in Amgen's pipeline. The group provides essential data to purification scientists regarding clearance of process related impurities and develop methods and transfer them to various analytical laboratories including Quality Control for release testing of clinical and commercial materials.

Responsibilities:

•Developing and implementing state-of-the-art and fit-for-purpose analytical methods for: release testing, product characterization/optimization, reference standard characterization, and investigations

•Preparing technical reports for investigations, product and impurity characterization, and regulatory submissions

•Generating, analyzing, and interpreting analytical data to support product development investigations and regulatory submissions for Process Development, Quality, etc.

•Participates in and contributes to critical analytical development teams (e.g., Product and process development teams, Product quality teams) by providing analytical updates, analytical documentation and data interpretation

•Keeps current in analytical development field including literature and technology development for cutting edge and regulatory driven activities

•Supporting analytical projects involving method development, qualification, and transfer

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

OR

Associate's degree and 4 years of Scientific and/or Biology and/or Biochemistry experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 6 years of Scientific and/or Biology and/or Biochemistry experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year of work experience in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience with ELISA assays
  • Experience with automation platforms, specifically large scale liquid handlers (e.g. Tecan)
  • Experience with method development, qualification and troubleshooting
  • Strong communication and multi-tasking skills
  • Highly organized and motivated, have strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to multi-task, collaborate and work in teams.
  • Familiarity with method development, method qualification, electronic notebooks and cGMP requirements
