Oversees the supervision of the grounds crew, as well as, Alumni Gym membership program.

Facilities Management

  • Assist in the planning, directing, and managing of the general use, control and operation of all athletic and recreational facilities.
  • Develops, implements, and enforces observance of operating policies and procedures.
  • Investigates and reviews current facilities policies and procedures to evaluate effectiveness and needed changes and revisions.
  • Interviews coaches, administrators, facility users, etc. to collect information and identify current and desired uses of the facilities, problems, and safety, security or other related issues or concerns.
  • Studies, analyzes, and evaluates facility use, reviews report of improper activities, and recommends immediate and long range plans.
  • Coordinates events and maintenance requirements with the Assistant Director of Athletics for Scheduling and Special Events.
  • Develops and recommends the general plan and changes for facility operating hours and controlled access and determines adequate staff coverage.
  • Serves on the campus-wide controlled access and security system committee and ensures DCAD's needs are known and administers any changes.
  • Develops and implements key distribution policies and building keying systems.
    Investigates instances of safety and security violations; prepares incident reports and coordinates corrective actions with Department of Safety and Security.

Oversees Employee Staff Supervision

  • Determines staffing requirements and sets work schedules for facility operations and scheduled events. Defines work requirements and develops standard operating procedures and employee instructional manuals.

Zimmerman Fitness Center

  • Oversees Fitness Center Manager

Ground Crew Supervision

  • Oversees the grounds crew supervisor.
    Assist in hiring new members, implementing disciplinary actions, and enforcing safety practices.
  • Assists in the creation of weekly and monthly work schedules as well as event work assignments.
  • When necessary, works with Union, OSHA , Environmental Health & Safety, Human Resources, ID&E, etc. regarding personnel matters.

Public Relations

  • Promotes positive facility user relations.
    Represents the Facilities Management Office and the programs to persons seeking information or whom have concerns or suggestions related to facilities access, entitlement, maintenance, etc.
  • Resolves facility problems; responding to user inquiries, complaints, problems, etc. related to facilities, access, schedules, entitlement, maintenance, etc.
  • Works with the Membership Coordinator to develop short, medium and long term marketing and advertising strategies to promote the use of Dartmouth College athletic facilities.

Facilities Event Management

  • Serves as Facilities Manager for assigned scheduled events.
  • Coordinates staffing, materials, and services requirements; organizes work crews and schedules; and oversees facility set-up.
  • Provides on-site direction and coordination to facility operations while events/activities are in progress and enforces observance of facility operating policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoots as necessary prior to, during, and after events.

Thompson Arena Management

  • Personally plans and directs the general use, operation and maintenance of the Thompson Arena.
  • Develops, implements, and enforces observance of operating policies and procedures.
  • Works directly with the Assistant Director of Athletics for Scheduling and Special Events to coordinate all activity in Thompson Arena.
