Key Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities

Coaching/Mentoring
Contributes to planning and implementing the training, conditioning and coaching programs for the field hockey team.
Assists head coach in conducting team practices, training, conditioning, and competitions.
Prepares scouting reports and game plans for opponents.
Teaches field hockey skills to student-athletes.
Demonstrates a sincere interest in the academic, personal, and physical welfare of each student-athlete; counsel team members and consult with the head coach and appropriate College staff as necessary for the resolution of issues.

Recruiting
Assists head coach in developing and implementing an overall recruiting plan, including, but not limited to:
a) identifying qualified students and talented athletes;
b) communicating with prospects by phone, mail, e-mail;
c) traveling to evaluate prospects, meet parents and high school coaches:
d) organizing and participating in visits to campus by prospects, and
e) maintaining appropriate recruiting records as required by the NCAA .
Maintains knowledge of the College's programs and opportunities to effectively inform prospects.

Administration
Knows and complies with the rules and regulations of the NCAA and Ivy League, and work to stay abreast of rule changes, applications and interpretations; actively seek to ensure that athletes and athletics representatives are informed of and comply with NCAA and Ivy League rules.
Assists the head coach in planning and administering the budget for the field hockey program which includes assessing needs for equipment, team travel, recruiting, etc.
Plans and reconciles recruiting travel expenses.
Assists head coach in planning and developing competitive schedule.
Assists head coach in coordinating team travel.
Assists the head coach in keeping alumni, parents and supporters informed of the program's status through newsletters, brochures, talks, etc.

Other
Assists head coach in promoting Dartmouth and the field hockey program through camps, clinics, and community involvement.
Develops and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of constituents, including students, parents, faculty, department and College staff, alumni, fans, community members, the media, etc.
Represents Dartmouth, the athletic department, and the field hockey program in an exemplary fashion.
