Job Description Summary
The Dance Team Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in the development
of individual and team talent, overseeing dance instruction, and supervising activities
related to weekly rehearsals and performances as scheduled.

Summary/Objective of the Position

The Dance Team Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in the development
of individual and team talent, overseeing dance instruction, and supervising activities
related to weekly rehearsals and performances as scheduled. This also includes being
responsible for ensuring the team receives choreography/instruction for any new
routines. In addition, the Assistant Coach should promote the Dance Team on campus,
especially at athletic events, while encouraging the members to publicize the team in
new and creative ways in order to expand membership.

The Assistant Coach is required to help schedule and be present during all practices
and game day performances, ensuring that all safety standards as defined by Bentley
University are met in full.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate weekly rehearsals.
  • Communicate regularly with Head Coach, membership and team leadership to ensure success of the team.
  • Provide for choreography needs of the team, either through direct choreography or by coordinating and obtaining outside choreography, in conjunction with the Head Coach.
  • Attend all game day performances (Home Football Games, Home Men & Women's Basketball Games)
  • Support the recruitment and publicity efforts of the team.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
