Join our ST AME team within Chemtech division in United States as Applications Engineer, Refinery Group.

In this role you will be accountable for:

  • Developing technical and commercial proposals for Level 2 projects including proposing modification to the standard design and configures the design and costing tools.
  • Following up on all inbound projects based on Front Sales role and is responsible for updating of the sales tools in relation to the Expected Order Dates and the chance of award.
  • Liaises with sales/more senior engineers/customers to obtain any missing information.
  • Adapts and tailor's product specifications to meet customer design requirements, using electronic design software.
  • Works with customer to clarify specification for materials to be used in product manufacturing.
  • Prepares the technical proposal/quotation from level 1 and 2 projects to the customer, including equipment description and specifications, and reviews and negotiates necessary technical revisions with the customer.
  • Responds to questions and inquiries from the customer regarding technical problems and issues that arise and provides related technical support or assistance, in a timely manner.
  • Upon customer order, reviews/approves the scope of supply and creates job file per Sulzer specifications.
  • Meets with customers on site, as required, to review specifications and requirements, present and discuss the company's proposal, and to participate in project initiation.
  • Reviews/Checks output of peer's designs.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering with 5 year's similar experience in a related field of Applications/Process Engineering in a mass transfer/distillation setting.
  • Ability to understand and fully interpret customer's technical requirements for level 1 and 2 projects, and ability to prepare process designs as well as commercial and technical proposals.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills used to interpret customer requirements and resolve problems/issues that arise.
  • Experience in the use of personal computers, including word-processing, spread sheets and CRM tools.
