The purpose of your role as anApplication Specialist

As an Application Specialist, you will provide application level support during the lifecycle of strategic programs and projects for the Digital Transformation group.

App Management and Support
  • Manage installation file directory.
  • Create installation scripts using PowerShell or command line.
  • Work with technology support team to update computer images.
  • Deploy apps to various types of functional groups across the organization.
  • Manage updates and service packs for the various apps.
  • Perform software upgrades and complete software installations and maintenance activities (may require evening/weekend work).
  • Perform application troubleshooting and support
  • Assist customers with imports/exports to accounting and or other systems.

App Procurement and licensing
  • Track and manage software procurement process.
  • Negotiate software pricing and maintenance costs.
  • Work with accounts payable to generate PO's and process Invoices.
  • Manage new vendor agreements and add software to the various logs.
  • Setup license management software by working with systems engineering group.
  • Monitor licensing usage and adjust as necessary to account for grown or potential savings.

Innovation Project Assistance
  • Prepare reports or correspondence concerning application specifications.
  • Evaluate factors such as reporting formats required, cost constraints, or need for security restrictions to determine app configuration.
  • Consult with team or other departments on technical topics, such as software system design or maintenance.
  • Analyze requirements to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system.
  • Consult with systems engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements.
  • Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
  • Develop or direct software system testing or validation procedures.

Business Process Analysis and Change Management:
  • Serve as a liaison between business and technology groups to implement and manage multiple transformational changes.
  • Drive evaluating the effectiveness of current business processes and software solutions. Identify ways to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, and/or increase adoption.
  • Stay current with customer needs and strategies; utilizing formal and informal written communication methods (for example, emails, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, executive updates, task lists, updates) to communicate updates and findings; and facilitating project meetings and presentations to all types of diverse audiences (for example, senior management, Customers, technical staff).
  • Provide leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others; articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers and others; identifying and initiating projects; managing resources; driving the resolution of issues; and holding self and team accountable for results.
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes and new responsibilities.

Project Management:
  • Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for few major or several minor initiatives simultaneously
  • Lead and align efforts to PMO standards.
  • Manage multi stakeholder relationships and expectations utilizing a communication process to keep others up to date on project results.
  • Lead or participate in multiple projects by completing and updating project documentation, managing project scope, establishing budgets, managing forecast, adjusting schedules when necessary, determining daily priorities, ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones, following proper escalation paths, and managing customer and supplier relationships.
  • Create and maintain project schedules by developing project plans and specifications, estimating time and resources, monitoring milestone completion, tracking all phases of the project lifecycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions and resolving conflicts
  • Meet with project team regularly to review project deliverables and deadlines

What we're looking for in you
  • 1+ year of knowledge/experience of the AEC industry
  • 3+ years of ability to read and comprehend contractual documents
  • 1+ year of business administration and management principles experience
  • 3+ years of knowledge of application management procedures
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) training a plus
  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) Certification or training a plus
  • Associates or bachelor's Degree related to IT preferred
