RESPONSIBILITIES:

What we're looking for in you
  • Associates degree required Business or Accounting, Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Basic understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting procedures/techniques
  • 1-2 years of proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records required
  • 2+ years of Microsoft Office experience required
  • 2+ years of progressive experience as an accounts payable clerk or knowledge acquired through education required
  • Experience in project accounting preferred
  • Ability to take on increased responsibility as the role progresses through the rotation is required


The purpose of your role as an Accounting Associate

As an Accounting Associate, you will rotate throughout the corporate accounting department to learn each area of accounting (accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job cost accounting) before moving into a general Accountant role. The timeframe for completing the rotation and moving into an Accountant role is 2-3 years to ensure understanding of each function.

While in each role, you will perform various accounting tasks related to the maintenance/processing of accounting records: such as filing, typing, verifying mathematical accuracy, accounts payable/receivable codes, and supporting others within the department. The intent is to receive foundational knowledge of each accounting function at Harris.
