We Are:

Fermilab is America's premier laboratory for particle physics and accelerator research, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy. We support discovery science experiments in Illinois and at locations around the world, including deep underground mines in South Dakota and Canada, mountaintops in Arizona and Chile, and the South Pole.

Fermilab's Global Service Department provides support and outreach to employees and user community by enhancing services and building a strong multicultural exchange program. This office seeks an experienced Accommodation Group Lead. Under general supervision, oversees and coordinates the work of the Accommodations department personnel and subcontracted service providers, primarily in the Housing Office.

You Will
  • Oversees and coordinates the work of the Accommodations department personnel, interacting with internal and external partners, in the administration of reservations, billing and collections, reporting, and subcontracted services, including housekeeping and linen.
  • Become the reliable point of contact for village residents and develop effective channels of communications.
  • Coordinates maintenance repairs for unoccupied and occupied facilities with Services Support group and village residents.
  • Obtains materials and supplies required for office and village services.
  • Processes purchase orders and work orders and monitors fixed price subcontractor work and T&M work.
  • Writes and reviews Housing Office policies, procedures, including rental rates, web content, and timekeeping.
  • Manages and monitors Housing Office income and provides reports to management.
  • Determines areas where profitability and processes can be improved.
  • Chairs the Housing Allocation Committee and serves on or reports to committees and laboratory organizations as a representative of the Housing Office.
  • May conduct performance reviews for subordinate Housing Office personnel.
  • Abides by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.

We Are Looking For:
  • High School Diploma with 8+years in hospitality field or management experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree prefeed with 2 + plus of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work independently, exercising a high degree of self-motivation, resourcefulness, attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
  • Ability to create high level reports.
  • Ability to effectively deal with challenging situations.
  • Advance Microsoft Office Skills.
