We are looking for a proven leader for a position that reports to the VP of New Product Introduction (NPI) Operations. The NPI Operations Organization is the focal point for rapid introduction of new products to market, including component solutions for commercial, automotive, and defense grades as well as evaluation boards that drive product adoption.


In this role, you will lead a global team and collaborate with other organizations to solve all NPI and Aerospace and Defense Hi-Rel product related issues and continue to improve the NPI process. You will have responsibility to establish and drive aligned schedules that meet key customer requirements to support revenue growth. You will be responsible for XQ product operations over their lifetime.


Job Description


As an ideal candidate, you will have an advanced degree in Electrical or Computer engineering, bring 20 years of semiconductor experience, have established management relationships with our core supplier partners TSMC, SPIL, and KYEC, and have 10 years managing global teams with specific focus in component and/or board new product introduction at advanced semiconductor nodes.


You will have outstanding soft skills and a proven track record of delivering results through collaboration. Ideally, you have experience introducing and supporting both Automotive (AEC-Q100 compliant) and Aerospace and Defense (MIL-PRF-38535 compliant) products and are an active member of one or more industry forums.


You will understand project management mastery or equivalent system of program management and have leadership experience in a multi-year program where the combined SW, HW, and IP budget is $100s of millions and the labor resources is in 1000s of man-years.


You will have strong planning skills, can break down projects into phases based on marketing and strategic requirements, assign resources, manage and balance multiple priorities, and execute against committed scope and schedule. In addition, you bring strong oral and written communication skills, have outstanding active listening skills, and a quality focus.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and manage through others a diverse engineering and operations team consisting of both junior and senior team members
  • Facilitate communications between the team and our suppliers as well as other internal engineering and marketing organizations
  • Drive NPI process generational improvements collaborating with leaders in technology development, assembly engineering, foundry engineering, design, characterization, test engineering, product engineering, reliability engineering, planning, software, and IP
  • Work closely with marketing and program managers to ensure development meet or exceed customer requirements in scope and schedule
  • Manage the Aerospace and Defense product line from new product introduction to product discontinuance meeting KPIs such as delivery, revenue, profitability, and quality
  • Establish and execute to management aligned schedules for the Xilinx portfolio of component and board products
  • Monitor technology trends such as emerging standards for new technology opportunities
  • Provide employee development and team-building for the team




  • BSEE, BSCE or equivalent technical degree, advanced degree is preferred
  • 20 years of relevant experiences, including at least 10 years managing a department spread across multiple geographies consisting of sub teams of 5-10 employees each.
  • New product introduction experience at advanced semiconductor nodes for a portfolio of products with solution complexity similar to Xilinx products, preferably including both AEC-Q100 and MIL-PRF-38535 new product introduction experience
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership on large scale multi-year multi-team multi-geography projects, including collaborative projects with suppliers like TSMC, SPIL and KYEC
  • Demonstrated understanding of wire bond, flip-chip, and CoWoS (3D IC) assembly technology
  • Demonstrated understanding of fab process technology at advanced nodes
  • Demonstrated track record of problem solving of complex technical and/or resource issues utilizing a cross functional team
  • Demonstrated operations and quality mindset
  • Demonstrated understanding of Xilinx All Programmable products, markets, applications, and value proposition
