Bank of America is seeking a Regulatory Engagement & Exam Management Executive to join our team. The Executivewill have primary responsibility for:



•Developing and managing strong relationships with our key regulators



•Developing and managing strong relationships with the FLUs/CFs, partnering effectively with them on regulatory matters and issues and ensuring they are prepared for regulatory engagements.



•Managingand directing allaspects of regulatory exams to ensure consistent exampractices, successful execution,andreduction of riskexposure for the company. This includes beingresponsive to regulatory inquiries, effectivelymanagingongoing supervision meetings; aiding with preparation of regulatory responses;as well as regulatoryactivity tracking, reporting and escalation.



•Continuously assessing and enhancing the client coverage model, improving he quality and execution of exams, improving the quality of our regulatory experiences, and identifying new tools and approaches to improve efficiencies.



•Providing leadershipand guidance toFLU/CFson exams, inquiries and otherregulatory matters.



•Identifying and assessing emerging regulatory issues, themes and trends based on their research of various information gathering methodologies and sources and through regulatory engagements and exam activities.



•Engaging with various industry and advocacy groups focus on regulatory events, policies, etc.



•Providing leadershipdirection, attracting, assessing, developing, motivatinga team, as well as ensuring a positive team culture.



If based in DC, this role will require travel to NYC once or twice a month



Requirements & Competencies:



+ 15-20 years relevant experience managing Regulatory and/or Counterparty relationships; Exam Management & interacting with Regulators

+ For the Domestic Client Coverage Lead (Securities Regulators) - A Legal background is preferred

+ Deep understanding of financial regulatory agencies and regulatory oversight

+ For Client Coverage Team (Securities), deep understanding of the key securities regulations required

+ Broker dealer or investment advisory experience

+ Knowledge of the company’s businesses and products

+ Ability to lead/manage a team, cultivate a positive team culture, and ensure the team works collaboratively with people across the enterprise

+ Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build and cultivate relationships both externally and internally

+ Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

+ Very strong presentation skills: ability to present key messages, recommendations and information in a clear, concise and insightful way and synthesize information key to relevant points

+ Ability to influence effectively at all levels within the organization

+ Ability to analyze and present regulatory data and information

+ Strategic thinker comfortable with the senior management level

+ Ability to think “outside of the box”



Enterprise Role Profile:



The Regulatory Engagement & Exam Management Executive holds primary accountability for the examination execution. The Regulatory Engagement & Exam Management Executive provides leadership and guidance to business leaders on exams, inquiries and other interactions. This role is responsible for providing leadership direction, attracting, assessing, developing, motivating and retaining a successful team in the following activities:



Exam Management



Manage regulatory exams for a line of business or function.



Understand, be accountable for and lead others through the phases outlined in the Bank of America Regulatory Exam Management Standards.



Ensure a readiness assessment (if advance notice of the exam is received and if practical) is performed of the end to end process being examined to identify any control gaps or weaknesses, potential issues and potential emerging risks. Readiness assessment includes:



Review of regulatory handbooks/standard testing questions (e.g., OCC Exam Handbooks, FFIEC Handbook, CFPB Exam Manual).



Review of any recent regulatory guidance or regulatory changes issued.



Review of any open and closed issues arising from past regulatory exams, internal audits, credit reviews or self-identified issues.



Ensure the proper level of senior executive engagement and subject matter expertise on the exam team.



Complete Exam Management training each calendar year and determine which exam management team members should attend Exam Management training, if any.



Manage and conduct Pre-Exit and Exit meetings.



Regulatory Inquiries



Coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries.



Ongoing Supervision Meetings



Plan and coordinate ongoing supervision meetings with regulators, including meetings with Front Line Unit (“FLU”)/ Control Function (“CF”) Executives.



Prepare executives and business leadership on key messages to present when working with regulators.



Regulatory Responses



As appropriate, coordinate the company’s response to regulator supervisory letters.



Manage and provide active oversight of the tollgate process meetings.



Share exam information / regulator perspective on the issues to influence the action plans.



Regulatory Activity Tracking, Reporting and Escalation



Serve as primary liaison to the Global Regulatory Relations team.



Engage business leaders and Audit on regulatory matters to ensure risk mitigation.



Develop and maintain effective reporting and communication routines to achieve FLU/CF understanding of key issues.



Responsible for escalating any regulator concerns, emerging themes or issues.



This role is responsible for ensuring consistent quality of activities, processes and outputs by establishing effective review practices across teams.

Minimum Years Business & Functional Experience: 10 Years



Degree Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
