Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a Part-Time Registered Dietitian for Coliseum Northside Hospital within Coliseum Health System in Macon, GA. The hospital is a 103 bed community hospital that specializes in orthopedics, spine care, bariatric surgery and gastric reflux disease .  Position will work ~20 hours per week with benefits.

Position will report to Clinical Nutrition Manager and selected candidate will:
  • Be a Registered Dietitian or RD Eligible for certification. Licensure in Georgia required
  • Provide nutrition education in the inpatient and outpatient setting
  • Have prior knowledge utilizing the nutrition care process and electronic medical records charting. Preferred experience with Meditech or electronic medical record and Health Touch or similar dietary electronic meal ordering system
  • Be able to work well with physicians, nursing and ancillary staff and collaboratively as part of a team, as well as work independently and be outcome focused
  • Be a part of the clinical team with a regular schedule and rotating weekends and holiday coverage including on call as needed within the hospital system.
  • Participate in foodservice quality assurance checks such as meal rounds, test trays, tray accuracy and foodservice training.
  • Be responsible for monitoring and achievement of clinical nutrition care standards
  • Assist in preparation and readiness for accreditation and regulatory visits for clinical and patient services areas.


Position Summary

Responsible for providing direct basic nutrition services
Key Duties
-Provides nutrition care to population served to ensure needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.
-Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.
-Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.
-Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexho resource when necessary.
-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.
-Follows operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience -  Meets eligibility requirements for certification as a Registered Dietitian
