**Job Description:**



Bank of America Practice Solutions is a specialized lending unit that focuses on licensed medical professionals including dentists, physicians and veterinarians. Applies credit skills and product knowledge to analyze and decide on a wide variety of business purpose loans for small business clients. Makes loan decisions, obtains credit policy and lending authority concurrence as appropriate and informs the originating sales associate of acceptance, decline or counteroffer decisions.



***This position can be filled at the Approval Officer I, II, or III level depending upon experience.***



The Approval Officer I will typically have 1 to 3 years credit underwriting experience and is able to underwrite more basic/simple credit transactions with minimal oversight utilizing independent judgment and discretion to decision loans. Responsibilitiesinclude underwriting business cash flows, analyzing credit bureaus and conducting interviews with prospective borrowers to measure their plans and aptitude against industry standards. They deliver financial, industry, economic and other analysis used to recommend and approve loans. The AOs exercise their own single signature loan authority while also ensuring adherence to credit policies, guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements. The AO will be called on to interview customers to obtain background and financial information in the process of rendering adecision.



The Approval Officer II will typically have 3 to 5 years credit underwriting experience and is able to underwrite more complex credit transactions with minimal oversight utilizing independent judgment and discretion to decision loans. They deliver financial, industry, economic and other analysis used to recommend and approve loans. The AOs exercise their own single signature loan authority while also ensuring adherence to credit policies, guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements. The AO will be called on to interview customers to obtain background and financial information in the process of rendering adecision.



The Approval Officer III will typically have 5 to 7 years credit underwriting experience and is able to underwrite complex credit transactions with minimal oversight utilizing independent judgment and discretion to decision loans. They deliver financial, industry, economic and other analysis used to recommend and approve loans. The Approval Officer III exercises their own single signature loan authority while also ensuring adherence to credit policies, guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements. The AO will be called on to take on customer facing responsibilities in obtaining background and financial information, articulating the bank's position and negotiating more complex relationships. This role provides ongoing coaching and support to Sales partners and other Credit Products team members.



**Required Skills:**



+ Must have credit approval and underwriting experience

+ Ability to evaluate cash flow

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Strong organizational skills

+ Proficient with PC applications including Microsoft office (Excel and Word)

+ Ability to develop proficiency with the GUS and Risk Rating scorecard applications.

+ Bachelor's degree
