**Description**



The Portfolio Manager 1 within the Global Portfolio Solutions & Institutional team will support senior portfolio managers in quantitatively based strategies including research and investment analysis, as well as management and trading of client portfolios managed in a tax-efficient manner through tax loss harvesting as part of U.S. Trust’s Tax Advantaged Strategies (TAS). The PM I will be responsible for assisting designing and back-testing ‘quantamental’ portfolio strategies as well as with running tax loss optimizations to generate trade lists, manage trades in client portfolios, and provide support to the PMs for client-specific and customized analysis. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving and computer skills, a high degree of attention to detail and be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a time sensitive manner. Familiarity with programming, tax efficient optimization, and trading systems are preferred.



**Qualifications**



**Key Skills:**



+ Knowledge of securities markets, modern portfolio theory, and factor-based investing.

+ Excellent analytical/problem solving and computer skills with emphasis on quantitative analysis.

+ Ability to work with a large number of accounts with attention to detail

+ Ability to work as part of a team **Qualifications:**

+ BA/BS in mathematics, engineering sciences, finance or economics

+ Programming ability in any of the following: VBA, C, MatLab or Python required

+ Familiarity with financial tools such as Factset, ClariFi, Axioma required

+ Experience with optimization processes and tax-loss harvesting preferred

+ Experience with trading, accounting and reporting systems preferred
