OEM Sales Manager

Job Summary

The OEM Sales Manager will be responsible for increasing OEM sales of all Richards Industries products, focusing on OEMs within the United States. The individual in this role will increase OEM sales volume by using extensive and intimate knowledge of Richards Industries product capabilities, strong technical presentation skills and exceptional customer support to win business at new OEM customers. The successful candidate will be positioned in the contiguous United States, preferably in the Midwest, and available for extensive travel to identify and develop new sales opportunities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Overall accountability for and ownership of domestic OEM product sales.

  2. OEM sales revenue increases in accordance with defined sales targets.

  3. Direct interaction with OEM customers/prospects for the purpose of marketing and selling Richards Industries products.

  4. Building strategic relationships between company and OEM customers.

  5. Understanding the technical requirements of targeted OEMs.

  6. Managing sales interactions with manufacturing, engineering and operations to ensure customers requirements are met.

  7. Attending tradeshows to generate leads and learn about the activities and strategies of the  competition.

  8. Maintaining customer files and information in Richards Industries sales tracking system.

  9. Preparing sales forecasts.

  10. Providing OEM specific sales input for bi-annual sales planning meetings.

  11. Collaborating with Product Managers and RSMs to provide customer feedback on product performance and pricing level needs.

  12. Providing input on advertising, literature and promotion materials.

  13. Traveling extensively in order to develop and increase sales.


  • Bachelors degree plus 5+ years of successful sales experience, preferably within the process industries. A mechanical engineering degree would be considered a plus.

  • Previous OEM sales experience and strong personal and business relationships with large OEM customers a plus.

  • History and track record of developing new account relationships, achievement of sales revenue and key objectives

  • Results-oriented with a proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Excellent organization skills, with emphasis on priorities and goal setting

  • Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • High sense of urgency with ability to drive results

  • Strong customer-focused orientation.
