Metrology Engineer

Pacific Biosciences is looking for an experienced Metrology Engineer ready to work on the manufacturing line for our biologically integrated semiconductor chip technology. Daily job activities will include overseeing metrology operations for measurement of in-line manufacturing parameters, and support assembly of the integrated semiconductor chip.


 


The ideal candidate is an adaptive forward-thinking person able to take ownership of complex long-term projects while executing on immediate short-term deliverables. Key skills will include problem solving, project management, excellent documentation skills, and excellent team interaction. Previous experience with software development and database management for semiconductor metrology operations will make for a highly successful candidate. 


 


Responsibilities:


This person will be responsible for ensuring high quality products are delivered from an integrated manufacturing line involving multiple semiconductor foundry partners. 


 


Key areas of focus are:


Pioneering methods to collect, store, and analyze relevant data that is comprised of multiple internal and external data sources.


Development of experiments and methods to identify key relationships between inline parametric data and product functional performance.


Evaluation of existing metrology operations, and development of new processes that enable the organization to meet and exceed quality/cost goals.


Implementation and Ramp of inline metrology methods into volume production.


Development and execution of roadmaps for ramp to production volumes including necessary CIP activities.


Provide technical guidance through cross-functional collaboration with R&D.


Experience and strength in software development and database management to facilitate all of the above activities.


 


 


Position Requirements:        


Masters degree or equivalent experience in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Physics. 


Significant proficiency with C++, C#, JMP, MatLab, MySQL, Visual Studio.


Experience with manufacturing automation and database systems


7+ years of industry experience with electrical or optical testing and high volume manufacturing environments.


Proven capability to act effectively and efficiently both independently and in team environments.


Familiarity with ISO 9001 & 13485


Strong ownership and drive for success.
