Orrick currently has an exciting opening in either our New York, San Francisco, Sacramento, DC or Wheeling office for a Marketing Coordinator who is ready to be challenged and build a career within an AmLaw Top 100 law firm. This position supports our Employment practice group. Your primary role will be to assist practice group lawyers and marketing colleagues with the efficient, effective and integrated execution of marketing activities that support Orrick's firm wide business development goals and strategies.

What Will You Do?

At the direction of the Employment group marketing and business development manager, you would do the following:
• Assist on all marketing and business development initiatives for the Employment group.
• Track and communicate practice group initiative deadlines and status. Liaise and communicate directly with lawyers and members of the marketing team on special projects.
• Assist with compiling, drafting, editing, proofreading, tracking and archiving of proposals, pitch materials, presentations and marketing collateral.
• Responsible for updating and keeping practice group collateral material on all available sources, including client, prospect and industry dossiers, the website, internal practice group portal pages and sales materials library.
• Gather and update attorney experience and case lists for use in pitches and other marketing materials.
• Maintain databases of marketing activity and track business development opportunities, firm experience and awards/accolades.
• Oversees the coordination of submissions for various legal directories (Chambers, Legal 500). • Monitor and keep attorney bio information up-to-date.
• Coordinate research, analysis and monitoring of financial, technological and demographic factors to support new market opportunities for demonstrating service offerings.
• Assist with all aspects of internal and external marketing events, including the execution and promotion of seminars, conferences and sponsorships.
• Work directly with lawyers in collaboration with the digital marketing team to oversee the planning and logistics for client webinars.
• Draft and compile the employment group’s monthly internal practice newsletter (Dashboard).
• Maintain, update and notify various firms systems and communication vehicles (blogs, website, social media, among others) of developments in the assigned practice group. Oversee scheduling and logistics for practice group blogs and social media accounts.
• Maintain an acute level of quality control to ensure all marketing collateral, communications, etc. are consistent and error-free.

Qualifications:
You will need one to four years of experience in a law firm or other professional services environment. You must have a high level of attention to detail with the ability to generate high-quality work product in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Also essential is the ability to multi-task and prioritize. You will need to be responsible, reliable and someone who enjoys taking ownership and being accountable for projects. Working knowledge of legal terms and concepts is a plus but not required.

Other key traits include the following:
• Excellent word-processing, computer and internet skills necessary; high proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
• Willing to take action, be intellectually sharp, capable and agile.
• Highly productive, flexible and can handle stress.
• Maintains a "can-do" attitude and take initiative.
• Able to coordinate multiple projects while prioritizing work assignments.
• Excellent writing, editing and communications skills, with a strong dedication to teamwork.
• Establishes rapport well among M&BD team and lawyers and is a good listener.
• Ability and willingness to become proficient in the use of the following marketing systems and tools: Interaction / Who Knows Who (CRM Software); Orrick’s Biography Tool; Orrick’s Portal and Relevant Marketing Resources, such as Client-Matter and Deals Databases (Oex/Foundation); Enterprise Search; eReports; Tikit (Broadcast Email and Event Registrations suite); and AdobePro/Nuance PDF.
