Job #79030 - Sodexo is seeking an Food Operations Manager (I) for Bridgewater Retirement Community in Bridgewater, VA.  This is a 525 Resident Continuing Care Retirement Community located near the Harrisonburg Metro area in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. The downtown area is attractive and historic with nearby James Madison University and the Blue Ridge and Appalachian Mountains which offer plenty of recreation and outdoor interest. In your role; this is a hands-on position, moving from back of the house to front of the house with the addition of administrative duties.  Position manages; the daily operations of the kitchen, 35 employees in food production & dining service, food & labor costs controls, some catered events, small food retail operation, quality standards, self-audits for the HACCP process, and customer service programs and enhancements.  Your skills to support the primary focus of driving outstanding food quality and service to enhance and energize healthy living for our Residents is mission critical.

Your Skills Checklist for this position:

Some College / Trade School Certificate, Servsafe Certified

Restaurant /Country Club; fine dining management

Food production and front of the house management

Ability to train and develop 35 employees

Detailed knowledge of HACCP for regulatory compliance

A passion for a high level of customer service

Computer skills for food & labor costs controls

Certified Dietary Manager, CDM would be ideal

Typical schedule; 10am-7pm with rotating weekends & holidays

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.
Key Duties
- Establishes a safe work environment

- Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships,  to ensure account retention

- Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

- Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and  regulatory agencies
 

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
