Unit Description

Sodexo on the campus of Ithaca College is seeking an Executive Chef 1 who will be responsible for culinary operations supporting a large Resident Dining location serving approximately 10-12k meals weekly, Catering and Retail Locations. There are three Residential Dining Halls on this campus with approximately 7,000 students enrolled.  Reporting to the campus Executive Chef, this manager will oversee a culinary team and will manage the daily food production operations for a large student residential dining unit, plus campus catering that is funneled through this location.  Ithaca hosts 3,000 catering events a year!

 

This manager will typically work Tuesday - Saturday from 11am - 7pm, but must be flexible based on changes in business needs.

 

The best qualified candidate will have the following:

 

  • High-volume, College/University or contract management food service culinary experience
  • Experience training and leading a culinary staff
  • Catering food production/culinary program experience
  • Experience with food and labor management systems
  • Experience with on-line food/product ordering systems
  • Experience with food and physical safety programs

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a small sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
