    Sodexo School Food Service is seeking a Executive Chef I to work in a school district located in Holyoke, MA, that has USDA meal programs at 24 sites including, elementary, middle, high and charter schools. The Executive Chef I will manage production sites, catering and assist with employee training and development and catering.  The ideal candidate will have a culinary degree and is ServSafe Certified.  Fluent in Spanish is a plus.

     

    The best qualified candidate will bring proven Culinary Production experience to this position and will also be responsible for supervising staff, ordering, inventory, some financial reporting, staff training/development and HACCP.  The Executive Chef will oversee production centers in the district, train and develop staff, develop the catering program including development of the catering menu.

    Position Summary

    Provides culinary leadership within a small sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution
    Key Duties
    -Executes the culinary function
    -Customer & Client satisfaction
    -Manages food & physical safety program.

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
    Basic Management Experience - 2 years
    Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
