Channel Business Development Manager

This position is responsible for developing and implementing reseller recruitment strategy and to drive additional revenue through channel. The channel development manager provides leadership and direction for partners to ensure they meet business objectives.


  • Develop and implement effective reseller recruitment strategy. Create marketing programs that create interest for companies to become resellers. Work closely with dormant resellers to reactivate. Identify potential reseller needs and interests and effectively communicate benefits and opportunities available to meet needs and interests. Meet reseller recruitment quota as set by the SVP of Business Development.

  • Partner with the Director of Sales and Account Executives to provide support to reactivated and new resellers in developing business plans, expense budgeting and marketing plans.

  • Analyze reseller capacity throughout the country to pinpoint activities to match recruiting efforts. Perform analysis of reseller mix by product specialty and develop plan to ensure recruitment efforts target correct mix of resellers. Analyze sales and industry trends and make appropriate recommendations to ensure long-range planning needs are met.

  • Presents, recruits and discusses S1 products with resellers, master resellers, solutions providers, and training partners to help drive sales and revenue target achievement.

  • A focus on recruitment, onboarding and revenue generation through Managed Service Providers.

  • Creates and conducts partner assessments including partner evaluation processes, quarterly and annual business reviews, JTRs and relationship scorecards.

  • Maintain regular interactions with the partners sales and sales management teams and initiate training based on teams needs and customer questions or objections.

  • Maintains processes that assure tight integration between partners and the sales and customer success team to minimize conflict between direct and channel sales.

  • Partners with Marketing to ensure ongoing communication to partners of business requirements and expectations.

  • Serves as relationship liaison and escalation path between the partners, sales, customer success, and other internal organizational departments.


Ability to Multi Task: Proven ability to manage multiple issues and/or projects successfully bringing them all to resolution in a timely manner.

Problem Solving: Anticipates problems, recognizes and accurately evaluates the signs of a problems and analyzes current procedures for possible improvements.

Customer Service: Listens and responds effectively to customer questions; resolves customer problems to the customers satisfaction. Respects all internal and external customers and uses a team approach when dealing with customers to exceeding customer expectations.

Detail Orientation: Thoroughness in accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved, no matter how small. Monitors and checks work or information and plans and organizes time and resources efficiently.


  • Bachelors degree or equivalent relevant work experience.

  • At least 3 years experience in the technology sales or channel, management experience a strong plus.

  • Experience developing and delivering initial and ongoing channel development programs.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications: Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint as well as web based presentation software: Go to Meeting.

  • Up to 40% travel required
