Unit Description

Are you interested in becoming a talented a talented Peri-operative Clinical Engineering Technician looking for your next step with a progressive health-care team? Sodexo Clinical Technology Management seeks talented candidates for this impactful role based in the Stamford, CT area.

 

Candidate must possess a high level of technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to make decisions regarding repairs and service of customer equipment. Will also need excellent customer service/time management skill along with the capability to communicate effectively both in written and verbal manner with customers regarding services performed and with internal and external customers, vendors, and colleagues.

 

Qualified candidates will also demonstrate general understanding of Peri-operative competencies and serve as a mentor to other technicians on the unit. 

 

Responsibility/focus on the successful completion of Life Support and non-life support equipment preventative maintenance within the required time frame following manufacturer recommended procedures.  Schedules and monitors assigned maintenance and Peri-operative repairs with service providers both internal and external.

 

Serves as an equipment liaison between the peri-operative departments and the hospital Clinical Engineering Department. 

 

Responds promptly to O.R. calls and triage the level of importance as needed, while consistently analyzing problems and deriving a safe and functional solution.

 

Investigate and follow up on any questionable equipment after case is completed to ensure proper function before it is used again. 

 

Maintains knowledge on aseptic technique and follows appropriate sterile field protocols. 

 

Maintains accurate and complete equipment records in the Clinical Engineering Management System.

Position Summary

Troubleshoots, inspects, repairs, maintains and calibrates a comprehensive range of clinical equipment, devices, systems and instruments. 
Key Duties
-Inspect, maintain, repair and calibrate equipment and systems
-Ensures regulatory compliance
-Provides advanced support of equipment for direct patient care
-Interacts on a routine basis with clinical health providers in the identification of technology based problems and solutions
-Solves organization-level customer service issues and complaints
-Preparing required documentation and reports
-Demonstrates a safety mindset
-Financial responsibility for purchasing parts and service
-Develops staff by teaching and mentoring others

 

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Functional Experience - 2 year in electronic, mechanical, or electro-mechanical repair
