Description **Job Description:**

Serve in the role of an Architect Manager within Core Finance Technology organization. This role will provide technology leadership, supporting business initiatives and strategic efforts with special focus on governance process for master plans, roadmap, permits and certifications across variety of technology platforms.

+ Certifies solutions proposed and checks for adherence to enterprise policies, strategic direction of the bank and industry best practices.

+ Participates in design, development and implementation of architectural deliverables, to include components of the assessment and optimization of system design and review of user requirements.

+ Contributes to the determination of technical and operational feasibility of solutions.

+ Develops prototypes of the system design and works with database, operations, technical support and other IT areas as appropriate throughout development and implementation processes.

+ May lead multiple projects with competing deadlines.

+ Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; provides tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor.

+ Will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations.

+ Provides input on staffing, budget and personnel.

**Required skills:**

+ 10+ years of overall software industry experience with 5+ years as architect or development manager role.

+ Strong data modelling and database warehouse design skills.

+ Understanding of large scale database, batch processing and analytical environments, with many stakeholders, users, different (conflicting) sets of requirements and technology stacks

+ Understanding and experience with web services, APIs and design and architecture

+ In depth knowledge on design patterns and service oriented architecture

+ Hands-on experience with ETL tools, technologies and development methodologies

+ Comfortable with both Unix/Linux and Windows environments as well as .NET and Java developmental stacks

+ Ability to prioritize features and capabilities and make technical trade-offs to exceed or meet business needs and timelines

+ Ability to create pragmatic, strategic technology alternatives which deliver short-term results while contributing to long-term strategic direction

+ Effectively influence, negotiate and lead technology alternative evaluations and implementations across the technology and line of business organizations

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, communicating complex and highly technical information to executives.

+ Ability to provide technical recommendations and trade-offs to address business needs and timelines

+ Strong attention to detail, confident enough to raise questions and escalate when necessary

+ Strong leadership skills and qualities which enable candidate to network, lead within the organization and influence

+ Familiarity with IT security and risk management practices

+ Strong interpersonal and influencing skills

+ Excellent organizational skills, able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and respond to rapidly changing demands

+ Ability to work independently on initiatives with little oversight. Motivated and willing to learn.

**Desired skills:**

+ Broad technical experience within a global financial firm, good understanding of existing testing/operational processes and an open mind on how to enhance the same

+ Solid understanding of banking/finance industry domain, applications and best practices

+ Understanding of financial services regulatory and legal environment

+ Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes and effective negotiation and team facilitation skills

+ Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners.

+ Experience deploying large-scale, global projects and programs

+ Ability to lead and direct multiple projects simultaneously

+ Experience directing diverse set of resources
