Survey Illustrates Attitudes Toward Veteran Hiring

A majority of poll respondents believe employment for military veterans is lagging due to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

The study, conducted by Monmouth University and the Asbury Park Press, surveyed 803 people in New Jersey--the state with the highest unemployment rate for veterans at 10.8 percent. The national average is 6.6 percent.

Seventy-seven percent of respondents said the country was not doing enough to provide job opportunities for veterans.
